New Orleans, LA (1888PressRelease)
January 18, 2008 - Harmony Hollow Software is pleased to announce a major update to their handy, freeware list order randomizing and name selector program for Windows, The Hat. For those not familiar with the program, here's a description:
"Just like drawing names from a hat to determine a random order for a group of people or to choose individual random names or pairs of names from a list. Just input a list of names either manually or by importing from a text file, then let the program randomly re-order the entire list automatically or pick any number of random names individually or even pairs of names, complete with cool animation and optional sound effects."
New version 2.0 adds the long-awaited feature of being able to pick individual names one at a time, which is especially useful for selecting winners of raffles and sweepstakes. Users can also now use the program to select individual pairs of names from a list at random. This is useful for teachers who need to pair their students up into partnerships to do projects, play games, etc.
Both picking of individual names and pairs of names is done using cool animation which actually shows the name(s) coming out of a hat, complete with an optional drum-roll sound effect and crash cymbal at the end!
The program interface also features a handy new toolbar, menus, and a rewritten, concise help file to aid users in taking advantage of all of its features. This version should also fix any bugs that users were experiencing in the previous version.
