May 08, 2009 - Super.Whixy.com, a subdomain of the science and health news website, Whixy.com, is a new site that is doing it's best to bring (almost) everything on the Internet together in one site. Similar to websites like, Alltop, Popurls and DrudgeReport, Super.Whixy aggregates posts from many of the top websites on the Internet and provides visitors with links to the original sources. Presently, Super.Whixy gathers updates from over 60 of the most popular websites and blogs, and counting. The site's goal is to be one of, if not the ultimate directory/archive of all news and other content on the Internet.
One aspect that makes Super.Whixy.com different from other aggregation sites is that it provides links to other sites' content in a blog style. Each link is created as an individual post with an excerpt from the original source. The visitor can click on a post and then decide whether to simply read the excerpt or to follow the link to the full article. The purpose of this is to allow Internet surfers that are in a hurry to quickly review all the news they want to read without having to visit each site, one at a time.
Another convenience Super.Whixy provides it's visitors with is sorting each website as a category. Rather than having typical categories like, news, entertainment, health, etc... and then lumping together stories from a wide aray of sites into the same general category, users can click on their favorite website's name, and then view all the latest content from that site. So if you're only interested in the latest news from a handful of sites, you can easily view only the stories from those sites via the categories menu.
Visually, Super.Whixy.com takes a stripped down approach. The site aims to have minimal graphics so that users can experience faster page load times, as well as be able to easily and comfortably peruse through headlines without lots of other visual distractions. Despite it's minimalistic appearance, Super.Whixy can still be considered "Web 2.0," as it is powered by Wordpress and offers all the common technological amenities, such as: RSS feeds, tag archives, social bookmarking buttons, comments, pingbacks, etc...
