February 18, 2008 - Electronic Workplace has introduced a new Managed IT service aimed exclusively at SMEs. Designed to make IT less costly and more flexible, the service includes the provision of software and hardware at a fixed monthly price as well as providing a full 24 x 7 support operation for servers and Desktops and Laptops with no additional call out charges.
Using the company’s secure data centres, the service is a fully hosted operation that includes the provision of Web Site and intranet hosting. Additional services such as Anti Spam and Anti Virus are included in the cost of the package which has a cost to the customer from as little as two pounds(£2) per month per user.
Hany Mustapha, CEO, commented “It’s an exciting time to be launching this service. With the economy going into an uncertain phase, the SME has a difficult choice. Stick with the old IT systems that are getting out dated and increasing inefficient, or move to more expensive new hardware and software to fully leverage the additional functionality and capabilities of the modern application set. By introducing a service where we provide the hardware and most of the software that a SME is going to need for a fixed and predictable price that can still flex with their requirements, we take a lot of the risk and the capital expense out of the equation. This is specifically aimed at MD’s and FD’s who realise that they need to cut costs but are faced with an environment where their IT is an essential, but expensive part of their operation. Microsoft Windows Server 2008 for example will require many SMEs to buy new hardware.
