The study says that cost advantage in healthcare services with no compromise in the quality is another reason that Thailand is a preferred destination for medical treatment. It says patients in Thailand are offered an absolute vocational package including treatment and rejuvenation, besides experienced and internationally trained doctors, enhanced medical technology, and holistic treatments due to which, revenue is anticipated to increase further in the coming years.
Authors say that the growing number of medical tourists to the country have been influenced by strong marketing campaigns, rising personal disposable income, suitable geographical location and a wide range of natural and cultural heritage attractions that Thailand has to offer.
Analysts in the industry, however, point out that the tourism industry needs to overcome several challenges like rising fuel prices and an unpredictable geographical climate. They say violence in the far South has created negative impact abroad and inevitably taken its toll on the travel and tourism.
