Discomfort glare results from the high-energy, “blue” wavelengths that are great in the light produced by HID Headlamps.
The Wireless, Digital Auto-dimming Mirror by AlphaMirror uses Liquid Crystal technology (similar to that in a flat screen TV) to change the reflectance of the mirror, thus reducing glare, but maintaining visibility. The mirrors’ auto-dimming feature is triggered by sensors which detect a change in lighting conditions and automatically transition from maximum reflectance to a dimmed state. The dimmed state of the mirror minimizes the “blue” light emitted by HID Headlamps and considerably reduces eye irritation and fatigue.
