New Principal Named for Jefferson School

  • Baltimore, MD (1888PressRelease) March 12, 2014 - Sheppard Pratt Health System's Jefferson School is pleased to welcome Sherry McCall Ross as its new principal. The Jefferson School is a licensed residential treatment center and special education school that serves more than 80 children and adolescents ages 12 through 21, with emotional and learning disabilities in southern Frederick County, Maryland. The school educates both residential and day students.

    With a B.A. in Education and a M.Ed. in Administration/Supervision, McCall Ross most previously served as principal of Cheltenham Youth Facility, part of the State of Maryland's MSDE Juvenile Services Education Program. She has also served as principal of Kennedy Krieger School: Fairmont Campus and Maryland Correctional Pre-Release System.

"Her 12 years as an educator will surely make her an excellent principal at our institution."

    Operating specialized clinical and education programs, Jefferson School also focuses on the transition from school to work, post-secondary education and training and independent living skills. The school has been in operation since 1997.
