New Online Resource For D.I.Y. Immigration Applicants Interested In The 90+ Occupations In Demand In Australia

AskQuokka, with offices in the Silicon Valley, announces a new online resource for skilled workers looking to obtain residency in Australia.

(1888PressRelease) April 12, 2008 - Mountain View, California - Anyone can now view the professions that are in demand. On average there are 90+ occupations on the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s (DIAC) Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL). Examples of the skills needed immediately are: car mechanics, electricians, computer professionals specializing in Oracle, Seibel, accountants, nurses and surgeons.

Several times a year, the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) updates its Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL). AskQuokka maintains an up-to-date list that is easily accessible on their website and free for anyone to view.

The benefits of having an occupation that is on the MODL, is it will allow individuals to have additional points allocated to their Skilled Migration points test, making it easier to immigrate.

AskQuokka has developed two levels of online service for people who wish to apply for an Australian visa. A simple “Ask A Question”, where the user can pay US$25 to receive immigration advice within 24 hours of submission, or a telephone consultation where the user can schedule a time convenient to them via the website. This is best for multiple questions or for more complex cases.

“With the Australian economy continuing to grow, this is a perfect time for people who are considering a new adventure or a new direction in their lives to look into residency in Australia. An independent online survey completed recently by Mortgage Choice, that surveyed 1,002 Australians, 90% of whom were property owners, found 83% were confident that the country’s economy will be strong during 2008. Despite the global credit crunch, this positive sentiment has increased from 2006’s 69%”, said Bijou Gilbert, office manager of AskQuokka.
