February 11, 2009 - ACO also has 26 production sites in twelve countries. Due to this fact it is not surprising how widely used ACO drainage systems are as part of the groundwork on all sorts of projects.
Recently ACO launched their new product, named MultiDrain MD, it replaces the N100K system. The MultiDrain MD system can be 100mm, 150mm or 200mm in channel width, and pieces are available in lengths of either 1 or 0.5 metres. Pieces are easily connected as they just slot together and can then be made watertight using appropriate sealant. The channel unit is a distinct ‘V’ shape that allows for an increased drainage flow rate, which can in turn assist in keeping the drainage channel cleaner and free of debris. Made from light weight polymer concrete, with integrated steel edge rails, the systems are durable and efficient. Load classes it is approved for vary from Class A pedestrian areas to Class D road vehicle parking areas, although it is not suitable for use on motorways or other actual carriageways.
In order for the system to be practical, and look pleasing, in a variety of applications, an assortment of gratings are obtainable. These include cast iron, galvanized and stainless steel. When groundwork is initially planned, it is possible to decide whether level or sloped drainage is more suited to the environment being built on. In areas where falls are marginal using a sloped system can improve drainage performance. The ACO MultiDrain MD system also allows for a number of outlet options that can be used, depending on which is most appropriate to the groundwork being undertaken, including sumps, gullies and channel knock-outs.
