We live in an age where all consumer destined products must carry increasing amounts of mandatory information. This means that copy space is rapidly diminishing as product labels are filled with regulatory, multilingual, instructional and promotional copy.

Often, important sales information will be left off the product description because it was displaced by required "legal" copy. Does any other industry have such a restriction on sales space due to legal requirements?

By expanding copy space, food packaging buyers gain the freedom to tell their customers "all the good stuff" while leaving enough space for government required copy.
