June 30, 2010 - Certified Elder Law Attorney and Fein, Such, Kahn & Shepard, P.C. Shareholder Deirdre R. Wheatley-Liss, Esq., has been appointed to Montclair State University's (MSU) Planned Giving Advisory Council. As a member of the Council, Wheatley-Liss will serve in an advisory capacity, recommending appropriate policies and guidelines as they relate to planned giving, providing oversight of giving vehicles and educating members of the community about financial and estate planning matters. Wheatley-Liss will also draw on her estate planning expertise to provide assistance regarding the technical and legal aspects of various gift planning vehicles. Composed of alumni and friends of the University, Montclair State's Planned Giving Advisory Council works closely with the institution's Planned Giving Officer in the management and marketing of gift planning programming.

Wheatley-Liss is one of just 50 attorneys in New Jersey accredited as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation (as approved by the American Bar Association). In addition to advising MSU's planned giving department, she is a Member of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and has served on the Steering Committee of the Chamber's Women in Business (WIB) Committee. She also provides pro bono legal assistance to emerging and established 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charities such as volunteer fire departments, rescue services and children's recreation programs.
