February 05, 2008 - Barbara A. Rainey, a graduate from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in religious studies, has written and self-published a new inspirational romance novel entitled Supreme Servitude.
Mrs. Constance Livingston Bennett is a respectable, upper-class Englishwoman who carefully concealed secrets from her family and friends. Her secrecy and apparent emotional problems which stem from an exciting but shattering experience that took place when she was eighteen are not lost on those concerned persons around her.
The story begins in the late 1990s when Constance is eighty years old and still haunted by her ordeal more than sixty years before. After her sudden death, her children try to find out what had happened to their mother so long ago that would cause her to behave so strangely. The novel then takes the reader back to Constance's childhood and youth where her secret is finally reveal and she learned to cope with what happened.
Supreme Servitude is both an exciting romance and an inspirational tale which provides insight into why people behave the way they do, and why appearance can be deceiving.
