Studies show that women are currently creating their positive impact on the economy. A report in October 2007 by Catalyst, a national non-profit organization working to expand opportunity for women, found that Fortune 500 companies with the highest representation of women board of directors achieved significantly higher financial performance on average than those with the lowest representation.
Ms. Hernon recognized that she had a competitive edge when she entered the world of corporate sales and had to out-perform her male colleagues. She was able to accomplish this through utilizing her unique feminine qualities. Ms. Hernon asserts that skills such as listening, empathy, ability to multi-task and even intuition, can enable women to excel in any business environment. Although these skills are not entirely feminine, women tend to have these skills naturally.
