February 27, 2008 - New research into the effect of isochronic tones on brain activity may be effective in alleviating sufferers of insomnia and anxiety disorders says Mr Yan Muckle, founder of SleepTracks.com.
An Isochronic tone is a rhytmic pulse which turns on and off at a specified rate per second and findings suggest mood and mental states can be manipulated by altering brainwave activity based on these rhythms.
"Even though it has been around only since the 80's, today many doctors, professionals in the areas of psychology and neurology and institutional clinics rely on brainwave entrainment technology to train, empower and treat people for a wide variety of issues" says Mr Muckle.
"It has proved particularly effective at combating insomnia and re-training the brain to sleep deeply and naturally." Mr Muckle has developed a Sleep Optimization course based on his findings.
“My background as M.D. gives me a lot of facts and insight into my own sleep problems…
I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. Nights were very difficult—medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2-3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.
But now it is Sleep Tracks into the ear buds all night. And I no longer have to depend on anything synthetic to sleep.”
