February 25, 2008 - Demented Apparel's new web store is an on-line source for the most unique selection of skulls and flames in motorcycle headwear. Besides searching for the most unique fabrics, Demented Apparel can create custom fabric to match a motorcycle’s paint job. All items are handmade with fabric selected by the company's founders.
For winter masks, fleece is used with a wind block layer and a thermal back. For more moderate and hot weather, cotton is used. Each style has been designed with motorcycle riding needs in mind and tested year round on numerous rides by the company founders, even on 100+ degree days.
“With over 6 million registered motorcycle riders in the US there's a large customer base for our handmade headwear” said Gary Westgate, one of the founders and test riders of Demented Apparel. Gary added "In the future, we plan to expand into the ATV and Snowboard markets as well, adding another 5 million potential customers." The product selection can be viewed on the company’s website. Prices range from $10 for a cotton headband to $20 for a fleece face mask.
Demented Apparel LLC is a Stateline based company whose mission is to provide the most unique selection of fabric headwear to other motorcycle riders at the lowest prices possible. The founders have a background in supply chain management and the test rider is a certified motorcycle mechanic and avid motorcycle rider. The masks and headbands were designed for the founders personal use. Once motorcycle apparel shops became aware of them, the company was created.
