October 22, 2007 - www.MobileLocators.com - one of the UK's leading mobile phone tracking services has now added a new GPS Personal Tracker Unit to its existing GSM mobile phone tracking service.
Managing Director Jonathan Cook introduced the unit by describing it as “an unbeatable value personal GPS Tracker which benefits from the recent miniaturisation of GPS (global positioning system) technology. This makes it far more accurate than GSM (global system for mobile communications) and so it’s not only much smaller and lighter than anything else currently available it is also accurate enough to locate someone within a few metres. The GPS tracker can also be used to track trailers, private or commercial vehicles, boats, caravans or other assets at a fraction of the cost of most GPS units.”
Some of the unit’s main features are that it enables GPS pinpoint location accuracy through online maps, text or phone. It is backed up by an immediate location service and emergency support 24/7 365 days a year. The unit - which is smaller than a packet of cigarettes - has an emergency alert button and is simple and easy to use. It also boasts web based global maps, so the unit can be tracked anywhere in the world (subject to GSM availability). Battery powered and rechargeable it is therefore light weight and portable.
“The unit costs £299 and has a £20 a month subscription charge,” says Cook. MobileLocators (http://www.mobilelocators.com) first launched its GSM mobile phone tracking service in October 2003. “In the last 4 year sales have gone from strength to strength and we see a big future in location service technology.”
The service recently featured on SKY NEWS when the Portuguese police were using mobile phone tracking technology to help find Madeleine McCann. "Soon after Madeleine McCann went missing we started to receive a lot more enquires from worried parents wanting to protect their children,” explained Cook, “which is why we felt this additional product would be welcomed by both parents and businesses.”
