  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) January 12, 2012 - A woman moved to express and explore her creative talents, Jessica Miller-Epps decided it was time to step out on faith and incorporate her passion for Jesus and her love for baking into one ideal instrument of praise and worship to the Lord, for staying faithful to her as an obedient steward. She has penned a wonderfully inspired book that combines her love for Christ and Cake!

"Finding GOD in the Kitchen" is a superbly creative comparison manuscript on one's Christian walk and following the basic stages of a cake recipe. In this book, the author shows us how God is the master baker, taking pride and precise care in creating His magnificently designed product, the human race. This book entertains the idea of life acting as a cake recipe that God is creating. We are all, at one stage or another, part of His grand recipe; mixing our way into completion.

God; the master baker…is "baking up" a multi-layered cake, generation after generation. We as the human race are like that masterfully arranged cake, one layer after the other of grace, mercy and love. Have we ruined the master's cake by allowing a filling oozing with corruption and sin between our layers? [excerpt]

Some of Epps' fondest childhood memories are of spending moments in the kitchen alongside her mother and grandmother, making desserts and eating spoonfuls of batter while exploring various ways to edify a simple cake recipe. Her ambition and passion for creating decadent desserts led her to a Baking and Pastry Arts program with the Culinary Academy of Long Island; later, she started her own cake baking business called, "Heavenly Slices".

Raised by their mother and grandmother, Jessica and her three siblings were led by these strong, spirit filled women to have a firm foundation, the basis for her belief in God. Attendance to their local church, Friendly Baptist under Pastor Albert Sutton, in the Bronx NY, was devotedly stable. In later years, her attendance to the childhood church became personally constant and purposeful as her faith increased. Jessica began the process to completely seek and understand the Word after going through personal struggles that caused her to re-evaluate the direction her life was going in.

She became a born-again Christian and found complete joy in sharing the Gospel. Her desire to grow spiritually brought her to Chicago's Moody Bible Institute's Biblical Studies online program; as well, she graduated from the Te'Hillah School of Urban Ministry in Jamaica New York, where her fervor reinforced truly for the Lord.

Explore and share the love of God, and for home baking in the company of Mrs. Epps with "Finding GOD in the Kitchen", available now through Xulon Press, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Google books [ISDN#9781594675218].
