  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) February 24, 2017 - A changing of the guard is taking place in today's job market. Baby boomers, who were once the dominating group of employees, are now finding themselves working side-by-side with co-workers young enough to be their children.

A new book titled, The Baby Boomer/Millennial Divide: Making it Work at Work, addresses the issues presented when youth meets experience and also offers clear cut resolutions on how the different generations can co-exist in the same work space.

Author and baby boomer Beverly Mahone says she was inspired to write the book after returning to the workforce from a seven-year hiatus. She says "I was quite surprised by all of the new, young faces, the new dress code and, in some cases, a lack of drive." Mahone says she thought it would be also be great to give the Millennial perspective so she solicited contributions from first-time Author Chris Gure. "When I first read what Chris had written about my generation I was taken aback, Mahone says, but I also had to admit a lot of it was true."

The book covers topics like the do's and don'ts for baby boomers in the workplace and millennial attitudes towards the older generation. Mahone says it is a must-read for employees and HR personnel.
