Richmond-Petersburg, VA (1888PressRelease)
November 02, 2007 - As with most communities, Richmond has many institutions and personalities from the past that residents just never forget. Prominent businessman R. David Ross has gone to great lengths to collect many of these memories in his new book Memory Lane—Richmond, VA, Vol. 1 ($12.95, November 2007, Palari Publishing).
“In this book are people and places that many Richmonders will fondly remember from yesteryear, from their childhood, or even hearing about from loved ones,” says Ross. “I’ve had a lot of fun remembering these Richmond institutions and former landmarks, and hope that readers will enjoy them as much as I have.”
Some of the places featured in the book include Azalea Mall, Clover Room, Tantilla, and Top of the Tower. Personalities like Sailor Bob and Bowman Body were a staple for most children growing up in the ‘60s and ‘70s, and they are featured as well.
Ross tracked down exclusive photos of the era and couches them with interesting facts and trivia. Just in time for the holidays, Ross hopes that this keepsake is able to bring fun and great memories to readers in the Richmond area and beyond.
R. David Ross will be promoting the book across Richmond beginning in November. Check his website www.kleosmagazine.com for details.
