June 30, 2008 - Just when a sweet dog or a spunky cat thinks it’s their last day, the volunteers for Faith, Hope and Love rescue them, giving the love and any necessary medical attention needed to make sure they find a “forever” home and provide families with love and companionship.
Liz Keiffer, President of Faith, Hope and Love, has been fostering animals for other agencies for more than three years. Liz Keiffer says, “Every animal deserves a second chance. We make sure all animals receive the love, care and attention they most likely have never had”. Ms. Keiffer recently formed her own agency, Faith, Hope and Love in memory of a female puppy, Gemini, she was fostering for Orange County Animal Services. Gemini had not been taken care of, was extremely malnourished, her muscles had not developed and her kidneys and liver were damaged. Gemini fought a courageous battle, but there was so much damage that she lost the fight to live. Faith, Hope and Love has animals in their care that needs the little bit of extra time to heal physically and mentally and would most likely not have a chance otherwise. There are many “happy tails” thanks to the volunteers and foster parents.
Faith, Hope and Love rescues most of their pets from county agencies and has been providing “courtesy posts” for individuals wishing to find homes for pets. Because of the high foreclosure rate and strained economy, more people are turning in their pet or abandoning them on a daily basis. The number of pets at county agencies is at an alarming number and unfortunately, it seems to be increasing. Because of the numerous rescues, Faith, Hope and Love is always in need of foster homes and donations.
Based in Orlando, Florida, Faith, Hope and Love is a small group of family and friends dedicated to saving the lives of pets. The agency’s name represents the FAITH in rescued pets, the HOPE that one day the animals will find their forever home and the unconditional LOVE the animals give.
