July 18, 2006 - What really happened at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001? Did an American Airlines 757 dive into the five-sided building at the control of foreign terrorists as the government has relentlessly insisted, or did something else strike the building on that fateful day in America? This is what the new feature film, Severe Visibility, explores.
The film, written and directed by Paul Cross, examines the events of that day through the eyes of an Army Major, an employee at the Pentagon who was injured when the incident occurred but is confused by the official report which contradicts his eye witness recollection. Major Kruter finds himself questioning his own sanity when he realizes that he was standing by the window in the exact direction and time that the 757 was allegedly making its way to its target but amazingly didn’t see the gigantic aircraft approach or strike the building.
Kruter’s situation is intensified when he meets a foreign investigative reporter who claims to have discovered what actually did happen at the Pentagon that day and tries to convince the Major to help him make the information public. Kruter’s self-questioning sanity is opposed by his sense of patriotism ultimately setting him on a collision course with his inescapable destiny.
In the end Severe Visibility does not attempt to definitively make its claim as to what actually did happen at the Pentagon on 9/11 but will certainly give the viewer a new and provocative look at the Bush Administrations account of the events of September 11, 2001.
