September 01, 2008 - Leader in innovative high-performance DC power supplies, Magna-Power Electronics’ new NEMA-4X enclosed power supplies are available in power levels from 3.3 to 45kW with voltage ratings from 5 to 1000 Vdc, current ratings from 3 to 2700 Adc, and input at 50, 60, and 400 Hz.
The NEMA-4X enclosure allows Magna-Power Electronics’ water-cooled power supplies to be completely isolated from the outside environment. This isolation provides protection against windblown dust and rain, splashing water, and hose directed water; and to be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure. Made completely from Grade 304 stainless steel, the new enclosure allows Magna-Power Electronics power supplies to operate in particularly corrosive environments. The NEMA-4X enclosure provides a cost-effective solution for deploying high powered DC power supplies in environments previously considered too harsh.
The power supplies can be remotely operated using Magna-Power Electronics Remote Interface Software (RIS Panel) from a computer terminal. Communications are interfaced through RS232 (standard), USB, GPIB, TCP/IP, and IEEE-485. In addition, the power supplies feature extensive control through numerous external inputs for integration with a programmable logic controller.
These power supplies are designed to provide reliable, long-term, controlled operation. Immediate demand comes from electroplating facilities, drilling, mines, petro-chemical facilities, electrodionization water treatment plants, shipboard, and military applications. Magna-Power Electronics NEMA-4X enclosed water-cooled units are now in production with delivery time from 5 to 7 weeks.
