April 26, 2008 - Organic skin care company Neal’s Yard Remedies CarbonNeutral status covers direct and indirect operations at the company head offices, production facility and company owned shops including travel, energy and waste disposal.
To achieve its accreditation, Neal’s Yard Remedies skin care company went through a rigorous process which involved measuring CO2 emissions from travel, waste and energy, setting in motion plans to reduce CO2 gradually through internal changes and immediately reducing the remaining CO2 emissions to zero through carbon offsetting. Over time, the company will need to buy less carbon credits to deliver its net zero CO2 emissions status as the internal changes start to come to fruition.

Organic skin care Neal’s Yard Remedies ‘Carbon Action Plan 2008’ sets out clear business targets that will help it deliver its carbon emission reductions over the coming year. This includes: improving energy efficiency; buying renewable energy and investing £70,000 to install solar panels for the company’s head office and eco factory in Dorset; and moving all plastic packaging over to 100% post consumer recycled PET.
Natural Remedies company Neal’s Yard Remedies, also aims to engage its customers in its CarbonNeutral programme by offering them simple ideas and tips on how they reduce their carbon footprint.
Neal’s Yard Remedies has purchased carbon credits from The CarbonNeutral Company in renewable energy projects in India and China.
