  • Houston, TX (1888PressRelease) September 18, 2015 - Jim W. Ferguson II, Founder and Executive Director of National Corrections Oversight Coalition Reg'd, has been selected as an Honored Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals.

Earning his Paralegal degree with specialization in Civil Litigation and major studies including Legal Research, Constitutional Law & Evidence in 2007 at Blackstone Career Institute, Jim W. Ferguson II is a law clerk with the Cortigene Law Firm in Galveston, Texas. Mr. Ferguson is a member of The State Bar of Texas (Paralegal Division) The National Association of Legal Assistants.

Mr. Ferguson has education in media, producing, journalism, corrections, is a registered Federal Consultant, Author, Minister, and former Staff Member of KPFT 90.1 (The Prison Show) in Houston, Texas, and is a colleague of National Criminal Justice Reference Service, which serves as the information clearinghouse for all of the bureaus of the Office of Justice Programs, US Department of Justice.

Founding National Corrections Oversight Coalition Reg'd OJP DOJ (NCOC) in August 2007 with concerns of high rate of sexual assaults, denial of medical treatment in corrections facilities with a primary objective of offering assistance to offenders in regards to their safety, security, a mental well-being, Mr. Ferguson's staff includes offender families, friends, former prisoners, and concerned citizens.

Meeting with corrections officials and submitting 'Corrections Intelligence Reports' to Congressional Committees, his newest project is presenting evidence of corrections facilities with high rate of sexual assaults. He also disputes the states federal funding by the Federal Government and holds prison authorities accountable for failure to abide by Federal Laws, Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) guidelines which authorizes the US Attorney to intervene.

Mr. Ferguson had this to say about the organization's success rate, "NCOC had numerous officers reprimanded, put on probation, terminated, forced high ranking officials to retire or be charged with a crime. A majority of investigations of offender complaints of abuse to state and federal agencies are against abusive, corrupt, or violent officers that knowingly break the law and if they think, for one minute, that they will get away with it, they have another thing coming. We have all the time in the world and when they get caught, we'll be here waiting for them."
