The Kansas City Power & Light District is excited to announce a new date for its yearly art festival. The 2011 Downtown Art Annual is scheduled for May 19 - 21, 2011, in downtown Kansas City's Power & Light District, and artist registration is open now.

The Kansas City Power & Light District hosts the three-day juried art event which transforms this popular shopping, dining and entertainment destination into a first-rate outdoor art gallery while attracting locals and tourists alike. Howard Alan Events, the festival's promoter, stipulates that all artists are required to be on-site for the entire duration of the show. The public can meet and talk with the artists personally about their art and inspiration. The artistic media represented include paintings, sculptures, photos, glass, wood, jewelry, collage, and ceramics.

"The Power & Light District is a vibrant setting for this premier art affair," says festival promoter Howard Alan. "We are thrilled to bring the nation's top artists to Kansas City who will be joined by a troupe of the most talented local artists; this is a fabulous opportunity for festival goers to discover quality original works of art by the country's leading artists."

Prices range from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections. "Art is a tangible investment that you can enjoy as it appreciates in value," comments Alan.

The Downtown Art Annual provides another dimension to one of the most exciting downtowns in the country. The District is the cornerstone of a massive $2 billion dollar urban renaissance, which includes major attractions, such as a performing arts center, arena, convention center and urban lofts.
