Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease)
April 10, 2008 - Early release to Toyota dealer in Roswell, Georgia could up stage the Southeasts biggest Auto Show.
As the 2009 Corolla debuts in this the 10th or so major restyling in the models 30+ year history. At first blush it is so obviously a Corolla the viewer will wonder why Toyota bothered with an expensive re-style if the car looks the same. Closer inspection will reveal sharper angles and a few flatter surfaces, delve into the specifications and you’ll find new trim levels and more powerful engine options. Sit inside and you’ll find an interior that you’d expect in a family mid-sized sedan like the Camry, not in a subcompact with an economy or entry level price tag.
Across every trim level the 2009 Corolla features ABS Brakes plus Front and Side Air Bags. Vehicle Stability Control is available on every trim level and is a standard feature in the Sporty XRS trim.
First introduced as an economical crossover, or entry level SUV in 2003. The Matrix spawned a genre of cool, hip utilitarian commuters. Toyota was a bit taken back when sales to recent empty nesters started pacing, and in some cases passing, sales to the original target demographic, the single, under 30 just out of college guy. Never to out marketed, Toyota has gone and restyled the Matrix for 2009. No where is this reach towards coolness more apparent than in the new, aggressively styled, XRS trim package.
Borrowing the 2.4l engine from the much heavier Camry the XRS Matrix has more than adequate power for the “adventuresome” driver who seeks some “sport” in their daily driver. If the 158 Horsepower doesn’t catch their attention maybe it will be the standard 18” wheels.
Even after it is all said and done about more power, sportier looks, your friends will still want you to help them move. The back seats fold flat and you can load, box after box in the cargo hold. See both the New, 2009 Corolla and the New, 2009 Matrix, in all trim levels at Nalley Toyota of Roswell.
