To promote the Tastings, the richly interactive retailer has recently added a 'Tastings' page to their site, where customers can type in their postcode to look for an event being hosted near their home. And if one crops up, they can then request an invite from the organiser.
“Here at Naked, our aim is to find better wines for less money than the supermarkets, and the best way to see for yourselves how good they can be is to taste them!”, explained a Naked Wines employee.
“The Tastings are a great way to meet fellow wine enthusiasts, and to find out what we're all about. They're open to existing Naked customers and non-Naked customers too.”
What makes the Tastings different from those hosted by other wine retailers, is the fact that the large majority are being hosted by the customers themselves, loyal fans who want to help the company in their mission to champion small winemakers.
Archangel customers, customers who are avid supporters of particular Naked wines or winemakers, can set up their own tasting events and add them to the site. More often than not, the winemaker will then send them some free wine as a thank you for promoting their products and generating sales for them.
