July 04, 2008 - Nadia Nour to be featured in the EcoFashion Show presented by Green Drinks on July 10th from 6:00-9:00pm at Southampton Inn. The fashion show will promote eco-friendly fashion that is fashionable, high-end, and approriate for the summer season.
Pieces from Nadia Nour’s Spring 08 Collection will be featured in the fashion show. The line is eco-friendly through the use of organic and vintage fabrics, and by producing locally in New York’s Garment District. “The collection is inspired by lazy Sundays in city parks and I have applied pop-art techniques to natural elements to investigate the urban conception of nature,” said designer Nadia.
Nadia Nours’s collection makes it possible to wear high-end fashion garments, show off your personal style and reduce your “carbon footprint”. Nadia uses bold colors and playful silhouettes to awaken youthful, unchecked spirits. Fabric patterns are inspired by the striped pattern of a freshly mowed lawn, wood grain, weathered tree bark, city skylines, and park fences. Overcast skies, rusted bike chains, freshly laid asphalt, and sunlight on grass inspired the color palette.
The models will be circulating the room instead of walking down a traditional runway, to give the audience a closer look at the designs and fabrics used. The EcoFashion Show will be an intimate showcase of six clothing designers plus accessories companies. An elegant and sophisticated crowd of eco-minded business people, professionals, advocates and environmentally concerned consumers will be in attendance to support the designers.
