Essentially the web site is a guide to studying languages abroad. MyLanguageTravel brings you useful information about the offerings of any given area, from Beijing to Vancouver, and offers insights into language schools by virtue of useful reviews and information from those who have studied at those schools.
The web site is particularly useful in that it is a guide written by those who have studied at those schools and know the positive and negative aspects of them. Students who have studied at the schools and services of a particular area will offer their own insights and reviews about the schools. Those recommendations, offered in one place, make it easier and more convenient to find the information that is necessary for the prospective student the opportunity to make a better informed decision about which language school is best for their purposes.
MyLanguageTravel, a web 2.0 type site, was founded by Maxime Braire, and uses a collaborative interface to assist students to study a language abroad,. Maxime himself was a student at one time, seeking online to find a means for immersion language studies. Maxime knows the kind of information that would have been helpful to him in seeking a language school abroad.
Maxime launched his web site and company with a focus on offering the information he would have liked to other language immersion students, so that they had the answers they needed to make a better decision when they select a language school abroad.
Maxime’s viewpoint is that traveling abroad makes people more open and accepting of other cultures. “I felt that people who travelled abroad were more tolerant and open minded than those who didn’t.”
