Murphy, Pearson, Bradley & Feeney's John Feeney Inducted as American College of Trial Lawyers Fellow

John Feeney of Murphy, Pearson, Bradley & Feeney, P.C. Named Fellow of American College of Trial Lawyers at Annual Meeting.


San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) October 28, 2009 - John Feeney, a shareholder of Murphy, Pearson, Bradley & Feeney, P.C., has been named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), one of the premier legal associations in America. Feeney was inducted at the College’s annual meeting in Boston on Oct. 10.

Founded in 1950, the ACTL is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada. College membership is limited to the top one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. Fellowship status is extended by invitation only, after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years of trial experience to be considered for Fellowship.

Feeney’s practice emphasizes professional liability, including work defending attorneys, physicians, insurance agents, architects and engineers, as well as general and products liability litigation. To date, he has tried more than 40 cases to verdict.

In addition to ACTL, Feeney is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He also serves on the Legal Ethics and Professionalism Committee for the Defense Research Institute and the Volunteer Legal Services Panel for the San Francisco Bar Association. Feeney served on the Legal Services Committee for the City College of San Francisco and has been an arbitrator through the San Francisco Superior Court Panel of Arbitrators. He also has volunteered for Legal Services for Children and California Lawyers for the Arts. Feeney earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (1978) and his B.A. from Dartmouth College (1974).
