MTV Dance Troop, Local Artists Combine For Hair+Art = Heart Benefit Presented By Tribeca Colorsalon On March 8, 2008

Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) March 07, 2008 - Local MTV superstar Enigma Kru will join other dance troops, local artists and student hairstylists at the Hair + Art = Heart benefit Saturday, March 8 at the Czar nightclub (located and 1420 East Seventh Avenue) in Ybor City. This special event, presented by Tribeca Color Salon, South Tampa's premiere salon, will include a silent auction, hair design competition and music spun by area DJs. Everyone 18 years or older is invited to attend.

Proceeds from the silent auction and ticket sales will fund the James Anthony Ray Sadler scholarship endowment administered by the Hillsborough Education Fund. The endowment will be used to send a local high school graduate to cosmetology school. Sadler was a much-loved hairstylist at Tampa’s Tribeca Salon who died in 2006.

“Last year’s benefit focused on the art of tattoo, which James loved. This year’s eclectic offerings combine different forms of art,” says Brandon Wagner, Tribeca’s creative director.

By forming this Tampa art show/hair show/entertainment extravaganza, Wagner and his Tribeca team hope to add to the $10,000 currently in the Sadler endowment account. Their ultimate goal is to fund an endowment large enough to send two high school graduates to cosmetology school each year; at the very least, Wagner looks to at least partially fund a scholarship in 2008.

“James would be proud to know he’s sending people on to do what he loved,” Wagner said.
