August 15, 2007 - Mt Xia has announced that it's vLPAR automated deployment appliance now supports IBM BladeCenter POWER processor-based blade servers. The vLPAR appliance provides automated deployment of complete multi-system business continuity, disaster recovery, high availability, and virtualized environments while simultaneously generating the associated supporting documentation in a web based format.
Mt Xia president Dana French is quoted as saying "The vLPAR appliance is a reflection of Mt Xia's decades of business management experience and our automated approach to system administration. The additional support for IBM's BladeCenter will serve to widen the market and appeal of the vLPAR appliance for both large and small data center operators."
The purpose of the vLPAR appliance is to completely automate the deployment of highly complex environments associated with high availability clusters, and disaster recovery provisioning. The vLPAR appliance utilizes virtualization across multiple systems to achieve this goal. A unique feature of the vLPAR appliance is the user interface is business function oriented rather than technical, meaning the answers to most of the questions asked of the user are business related instead of being technical parameters. The underlying technical architecture is derived from the business function related answers provided by the user. This unique approach enables standardization of many tedious and time consuming tasks, such as architecture design, service level agreements, and technical documentation.
