April 05, 2008 - Donating time and expertise in change and motivation, Coach Chez Wise introduced a group of pregnant teenagers to the power of networking by providing inspirational speeches at Birth Choice. Birth Choice Health Clinics are free and confidential. The Clinics are licensed community care clinics offering medical consultations and more. They also help their clients with whatever else they need during this time, education through speakers is just one of the ways they support the girls.
Life skills are the fundamental crux of Recovery Coaching. Recovery Coaching helps individuals to relearn and develop these skills. Teens have not had a chance to learn how to network and develop their own support communities. Sharing some of the ideas, and concepts used in Recovery Coaching with the girls opened their eyes, to new and creative ways of dealing with what is to come. Teaching simple network skills, they realized that each of them has a little knowledge to share and collectively, they have a lot.
“Developing connection with other people who are striving to achieve the same end is a lost skill in our society. In Recovery Coaching, we find ways to build an individuals community, where they can rely on others and learn to trust again. The girls of Birth Choice have the odds stacked against them, helping them to build their own community, helps not only the girls, but their babies as well. We are very proud to be participating.” said Coach Chez Wise.
