Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau Appoints Celeste White As Director Of Communications

The Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCCVB) announced the appointment of Celeste White as Director of Communications, effective November 3, 2008.


(1888PressRelease) November 11, 2008 - This appointment emphasizes the Bureau's strategic plan to strengthen its marketing communications focus and White will be responsible for the Bureau’s efforts including media, member/community and stakeholder relations. She will be responsible for proactive programs directed at the North American and the United Kingdom markets. Her new duties will include supervision of the communications team, programming, budgeting, drafting media materials, promoting Bureau initiatives and representing the Bureau at key trade shows. In addition, White will expand the Bureau’s social media focus and lend her expertise toward the Bureau’s continued branding strategies. She will also serve as executive editor of the Land & See destination magazine, a 172-page lifestyle magazine published annually by the MCCVB.

White brings a depth of experience to this new post including 17+ years in consumer, high-tech and non-profit public and analyst relations marketing. Previously, she has represented BEA Systems, Gundlach Bundschu Wines, SmartsCo Games & Guides and the San Francisco Zoo. Her extensive background in multiple disciplines ensures the Bureau will maximize its media exposure opportunities for Monterey County within print, broadcast and electronic media.

A California native, White graduated from St. Mary’s College of California with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Communications/Public Relations. She resides in Salinas with her husband, Scott, of 15 years and two children Sophia (12) and Collette (10).
