March 19, 2007 - MonikerMail.com has introduced a new service that provides eBay users with a means to email one another using their eBay user names or monikers.
For example, "bigbear321" can correspond with "littlemouse496" by addressing mail to littlemouse496 ( @ ) eb dot monikermail dot com dot Littlemouse will receive the email through normal email software and can respond to the sender's "bigbear321" address dot
Martel Firing, MonikerMail's developer explains the need as follows, "Buyers and sellers often need to exchange information but find eBay's web-form based email facility inconvenient. And exchanging real email addresses with strangers brings potential hazards of spam and other annoyances. The MonikerMail system, on the other hand, provides any subscriber convenient access to any other's address. This facility is exclusively available to eBay users who also subscribe to MonikerMail.
And, since it can't be used for bulk mailings, it is immune from email spam and "phishing."
An additional benefit is that the user can direct mail addressed through eb.monikermail to a specially designated inbox in his email software, thus easily flagging and separating eBay correspondence from other run-of-the-mill email traffic."
Firing is offering the first 30-days free of charge in hopes that eBay users will encourage one-another to sign up for free accounts on the spur of the moment Eventually, he believes that communities of interest will adopt the MonikerMail system as their preferred avenue of communicating in the eBay environment.
The MonikerMail service is offered free of charge for the first 30 days.
Thereafter, it can be renewed for $5.00 per month or $20.00 per year, a significant saving. To learn more and sign up for a free trial eBay users are directed to: http://monikermail.com .
