July 11, 2008 - Momindum of France, a software designer, has launched Momindum Studio 1.2, a software suite that enables users to automate the production of rich-media presentations thanks to unique speech indexation and synchronisation technology.
Momindum Studio 1.2, along with its accompanying software package, Momindum Timecoder, automatically extracts slides and keywords, as well as existing PowerPoint presentation outlines, including timing-related data. It uses deep-tagging technology to index speech and enables direct access, at the appropriate time, to an audio or video file, whether online or on CD.
Any speech from a conference, a lecture or training session that is available on video can be directly synchronised with the slides and then indexed. Education and training professionals can use Momindum Studio to set up an interactive e-learning environment quickly. Rich-media content is integrated into an easy-to-read database.
This rich-media content-creation software is free to download (the company records an average of 5,000 downloads per month). Standard use is also free. The company only charges for advanced publishing features, such as interface customisation, keyword access to content or attachments, and Scorm format publication.
Users of the software package do not need any particular computer skills. The author of a presentation can index it automatically when creating customised keywords and outlines, which can be extracted from a PowerPoint support file. The creation of rich-media presentations can integrate a synchronised video-clip with slides, HTML pages, images, PDFs or Flash technology. Using these files and the various indexes, viewers can quickly find the part of the speech that is relevant to them.
The accompanying software – Momindum Timecoder (version 1.0.0) – is compatible with Microsoft Office 2003. Further Momindum Timecoder versions will soon be compatible with other platforms.
