June 19, 2008 - THIS IS THE LAST OPPORTUNITY TO RAISE THE FINAL $60,000 in time for the June 30th deadline to reach $350,000 for a concrete skate park. An anonymous donor has offered the Ultimate Match Challenge – If $50,000 in donations is made by June 30th…$50,000 will be matched! The Ojai community has been fundraising for 15 years to build an in-ground, permanent, 10,000 sq. ft concrete skate park and every dollar counts!
“Mixed Message” will be curated by Désirée Astorga and sponsored by Hurley International and Premise Immersive Marketing. The week long event opens at the Village Jester June 28th at 6pm and will feature works by prominent artists Andy Mueller, Chris Pastras, Clint Peterson, Craig Stecyk, Dave England, Désirée Astorga, Don Pendleton, Grant Brittain, Kris Markovich, Ryan Gee, Sean Cliver and Wes Humpston. A percentage from all sales will be given to the Ojai Skatepark Project. The opening event will showcase a live performance by Skate / Music legend Ray Barbee. Early arrivers will be able to purchase a limited edition event t-shirt printed by Hurley and ALL proceeds go to the project.
