May 22, 2008 - MIDDLEBORO, MASS - Runners chose between a 5K walk or run and a 10K run which enabled people of all ages to join in. Snacks and beverages donated by local food vendors were available to runners when they finished, and three students from Carver High School played jazz favorites.
After all the runners had crossed the finish line, Robert Ewell, the race director and Middleboro resident, awarded medals to the top finishers in each category. Steve Keif was the overall male winner of the 5K and Alyssa Kirshnner the overall female winner. In the 10K, Nathan Goldrick was the overall male winner and Kristy Lamoureux the overall female winner. Race attendees and their families had an opportunity to meet Samuel Fuller board members after the race; learn more about the school and visit the model classroom.
"I'm excited to go to Samuel Fuller School next year," said seven-year-old Agnes Brown, who walked the 5K. "And I'm really excited to do the race again. Maybe I'll run next year."
