Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) June 08, 2007 - Mid-Atlantic Law Firm Expands, Adding Top Talent in Raleigh

The Raleigh office of Helms Mulliss & Wicker grows by 62 percent
in the first five months of 2007

David Paulson, managing member of the Raleigh office of Helms Mulliss & Wicker (HMW), PLLC, a North Carolina business law firm, specializing in corporate law, finance and commercial litigation, reports record growth of 62 percent in the Raleigh office for the first half of 2007.

HMW has added eight attorneys, three paralegals and three legal assistants to its Raleigh office since January. Continued growth in Triangle-based clientele has propelled the hiring. Starting with five lawyers in 2002, the office now totals 34 employees, 21 legal professionals and 13 staff.

“The recent growth is impressive, but it is not the main goal," according to Paulson, who is excited about the firm's success in adding top talent to an already strong and experienced legal team.

“Our clients expect the best quality and service. They routinely require a fast-paced response to maintain their market place advantage. The addition of these outstanding professionals assures that we can meet our clients’ growing needs and exceed their expectations,” says Paulson. “We are constantly looking for top attorneys and support staff. Our ongoing recruitment of the best talent positions us to handle the most sophisticated matters and meet any urgent client need.”

Attorneys Chris Richardson, a Harvard law school graduate, and Galen Boerema, formerly with Sidley Austin in New York, recently joined the Corporate practice. Mark Anderson, Chris Kennedy, Pat Meacham, Claire Modlin and Justin Howard are the new attorneys in the Litigation practice. Brett Hanna boosts the Commercial Real Estate practice.

Anderson, a seasoned trial attorney who is rated among the Best Lawyers in America, joins a litigation practice that already includes Rob Tiller, former law clerk to Justice Scalia of the U.S. Supreme Court and an experienced litigator.

Hanna comes to HMW with 10-years experience in big-box retail and mixed-use development as well as project finance. He recently served as lead attorney for the development of the Southpoint Mall area in Durham.

Paulson is quick to attribute the firm's success to the overall growth of the region. “The Triangle has a growing number of very sophisticated businesses that support the growth of law firms interested in complex legal work.”
