July 14, 2007 - Alba Spectrum Group is increasing its Chicagoland Great Plains consulting and customer support operations from its Chicago area locations in downtown Chicago, Naperville and associated office in Villa Park.
According to Albaspectrum Chicago partner Andrew Karasev we are strong in Microsoft Dexterity, Crystal Reports, VBA Modifier, GP RertWriter, Business Portal Requisition Management, HR and Employee Self Service, Order Management, GP modules: GL, SOP, IV, RM, PM, Inventory Control, Purchase Order Processing, Bill of Materials, Payroll. Special attention will be given to GP customers with complex customization, integration, reporting, data conversion and migration needs.
We also specialize in version upgrade, including the case, when you need Microsoft Great Plains Dexterity customization upgrade and Report Writer reports upgrade: SOP Long Invoice form with company logo and altered calculated fields. Some Microsoft Dynamics GP functional and technical guidelines:
Report Writer vs. FRx. FRx typically helps you with financial reporting with drilling down to original documents (however please dont expect GP Dexterity forms to be opened, it is only through FRx drilling down proprietary simple windows). ReportWriter is tightly integrated into GP Dex screens in fact Report Writer is in turn dex application. Use RW modified reports, especially popular are SOP Invoice forms and POP PO forms typical modification would be graphical logo placement
VBA/Modifier. At this time we still see a lot of VBA modification requests, where customer needs to add custom logic to modified GP screen, where VBA plays the customization script role
eConnect. This is rising star for GP integration, customization, data import and reporting. Even Integration Manager is getting rewritten in eConnect (old IM concept was based on GP as OLE engine, this is why you always have to have GP workstation running without GP screens open there)
