• MBS. With Microsoft Great Plains you can purchase support in the form of support cases pack directly from Microsoft Business Solutions technical support. In this scenario, you can login to GP Customer Source and place support case online – this is preferred by MBS. If you have purchased Deluxe annual support from Microsoft – you may have an option of unlimited free support cases – you should check you plan. Please, note however that case support scenario doesn’t include large portions of support, such as implementation, modification, major reporting, integration with legacy applications, etc.
• GP VAR. Another possibility is when you have custom logic in your system – in this scenario Microsoft tech support typically doesn’t support third party custom logic – you will need to work with GP customization or ISV partner. Custom logic examples are: Microsoft Dexterity, Modifier with VBA, ReportWriter, Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services or SRS, GP Integration Manager with VBA scripting or translation logic, eConnect and other types of programmed integration logic
• Independent consultant. Sometimes you work with independent implementation consultant, who typically sell the software being associated with one of MBS VARs
