July 30, 2008 - If you are responsible for Great Plains integration with your e-commerce web front and you want everything to automated up to the triggering order execution in your warehouse this means you need to create customer invoice, get a payment, save it to the batch and post this batch right from your e-commerce application. If you are deploying eConnect SDK you probably already realized that eConnect allows you to create so-called work transactions (Sales Order Processing Invoice or Order), save them into the batch, however posting is beyond of the eConnect scope and power. Alba Spectrum designed Autoposting server, which is Dexterity add-on for Dynamics GP Great Plains and it allows you to post all types of core GP batches automatically. Lets review the functionality:
1. GP Dexterity internal logic. When batches are posted by GP operator, Dexterity (which is GP engine) calls its native internal procedures to process posting job. Autopost add-on also deploys the same native Dex procedures after you, e-commerce software developer place the record about the batch ready for posting into Autopost custom table. This table is scanned by Auto Posting server every few seconds and if new record is found, posting process begins.
2. Batch origin. In GP most of the modules have batch processing nature, meaning that you have the option to save your work documents to the batch for future review and posting. Batches might have the following origins: SOP, POP, Inventory, Invoicing, GL, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll to give you few examples. Autoposting server should be able to post all the mentioned above plus it can help you in the case if you use GP ISV add-ons please check with us
