Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 eCommerce Autoposting – Alba Spectrum

Microsoft Great Plains Alba Spectrum posting server, which is built upon Microsoft Dexterity source code and allows you to deploy GP Dexterity posting engine to post SOP, POP, RM, PM, GL

(1888PressRelease) August 14, 2007 - Microsoft Great Plains Alba Spectrum posting server, which is built upon Microsoft Dexterity source code and allows you to deploy GP Dexterity posting engine to post SOP, POP, RM, PM, GL and others core GP modules (coded in DYNAMICS.DIC dictionary) batches. All you need to do as SQL or MS Visual Studio eCommerce developer is to place batch record as approved to approved batches custom table.

Posting server monitors new records in this table every few seconds and gives Dex engine signal to post as it finds new approved batch in the table. Some technology hints:

1. Microsoft Dexterity source code programming. If you are Dex developer who is familiar with deep internal codes, including posting procedures, you can probably call these codes by analyzing GP SDK. However it is not easy and we don’t recommend to experiment with this, especially in Great Plains production environment

2. SQL Stored Procedures posting imitation approach. This is of course technically doable, however realization might be compared with 30% of Microsoft Dynamics GP Dexterity source code rewriting in MS SQL Server Stored Procedures without good debugging tool. Similar experiment was actually eConnect stored procedures, however these procedures do not post, but create work transactions only. Albaspectrum posting server is an extension to eConnect, allowing eCommerce developer to post batches utilizing Dexterity source engine

3. eConnect integrations and their restrictions. GP Dexterity architecture allows you to create so called work transactions, which you place and save in the batches. Batches in turn should be reviewed and approved or modified by GP operators
