MGM Resorts Foundation Awards $12,250 To Spread The Word Nevada Supports Breakfast With Books Program In Local Elementary Schools

  • Las Vegas, NV-AZ (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2010 - Spread the Word Nevada, a local non-profit, children's literacy program is the recipient of a $12,250 grant from the MGM Resorts Foundation. The grant will assist the Breakfast with Books program at the twenty-one elementary schools in the Clark County School District adopted by the organization.

    The Breakfast with Books program is a family literacy event created to encourage reading and increase literacy. Once a month, students and family members from each adopted school attend an assembly for a book reading and discussion, which includes a free breakfast snack and book distribution. Last year, 127 Breakfast with Books programs were held with a total of 18,317 attendees.

    MGM Resorts Foundation has been a Spread the Word Nevada supporter since 2005.
