September 23, 2008 - ‘Hong Kong Ice Hockey League 2008-2009’ will assemble over 90% of the best ice hockey players in Hong Kong. The whole competition will follow international rules and regulations, and nurture Hong Kong ice hockey players in participating official international ice hockey competitions in the future.
To kick off this significant league, Mega Ice and HKIHA had proudly invited Mr. Wai Kee-Shun, the Honorary President of HKIHA, and Ms. Yip Siu Yin, the Chairman of HKIHA, to be the officiating guests of the ceremony, and to offer their blessings in the tremendous success of the league.
Mr Keith Fong, Mega Ice Deputy General Manager and Referee in Chief said, “We received an enthusiastic response this year with over 300 players expected to participate in the league. We believe that this league will offer great exposure to the game of ice hockey in Hong Kong and inspire many Hong Kong youth to join this wonderful sport. “
Mr. Kin Ng, the Honorary Secretary of HKIHA said, “We have been promoting ice hockey in Hong Kong diligently. We hope that ice hockey players can compete in high level league in order to strengthen their skills and attain valuable experience. Furthermore, we anticipate that more teenagers can experience and participate in this coolest sport through this event.”
