October 03, 2009 - Following 12 months of research and trials, Mecagil-Lebon has developed a range of innovative salt spreaders that are driven by an electric motor, which offers numerous benefits as compared to a petrol/diesel engine or hydraulic power. Firstly, electric operation eliminates the need to handle fuel, which cuts in-use costs as a result. Electric motors are also extremely reliable and require no particular maintenance. Finally, this system reduces noise levels.
Unlike a hydraulic system, which requires special and costly equipment to be fitted, an electric motor can be adapted to any form of truck. The motor is powered simply via a connection to the vehicle’s electrical circuit. The volume of the hopper can be 3m3, 4m3, 5m3 or 6m3, depending on requirements. A lengthwise adjustment of the centre of gravity can be set to three different positions to adapt to the truck.
An ergonomic and user-friendly digital control system based on pictograms makes the Avizzo easy to use. The factory settings are password-protected and can easily be modified. A salt-spreading report can also be drawn up en route, which states the quantity of salt spread, the journey time and the distance covered. In addition, the odometer’s total memory is unalterable.
The Avizzo salt spreader is designed to be environmentally friendly. Not only does it eliminate the need for oil and other fuels and reduce noise pollution, it is also made from recyclable materials, including stainless steel.
