July 18, 2007 - Glenview, IL – The Metal Construction Association (MCA) has created a new certification program to provide architects, building owners and general contractors a reliable way to identify high quality metal composite material (MCM) fabricators.
MCA’s Premium MCM Fabricator Certification Program qualifies participants based on experience, services, systems, and financial capabilities and provides a valuable tool for decision makers to find highly skilled MCM fabricators. The program’s stringent requirements also help qualified fabricators promote the use of MCM in all types of building projects, especially large, high-end ones.
Miller-Clapperton was one of the first fabricators to qualify for the new MCA program. “Our company became certified in the MCM Premium Fabricator Certification Program because it gives us the ability to distinguish Miller-Clapperton from the average fabricator. The program is of great value to owners, designers and general contractors because it provides them with a reliable measuring stick with which to compare fabricators. Through it they are able to select a fabricator that provides premium ability to build their projects,” said Ted S. Miller, principal of the Austell- GA-based firm.
Architects say their biggest concern in specifying MCM panels is having the assurance that the selected fabricator is qualified to do the work. Being certified under this program distinguishes and brands participants as elite providers of MCM materials and systems who can provide what architects and owners want – proven capabilities involving this specialized product. Architects and building owners can identify MCA-certified fabricators by the Premium MCM Fabricator logo on participant’s materials or by asking for a confirmation of certification.
NOW Specialties, Inc. is another qualified MCM Premium Fabricator that finds the program extremely valuable. “The MCM Premium Fabricator logo is a mark of high quality. It shows that the fabricator is qualified on a number of criteria, such as experience, financial strength, and their number of laboratory-tested installation systems. It removes the guesswork when choosing between several MCM fabricators,” says Fred Nolan, principal of the Dallas, TX-based company.
