The MatrixAir™ BP system succeeds in providing superior energy output than conventional glazed or unglazed backpass collectors and gives engineers and architects a more efficient and affordable fresh air heating system for façade-mounted industrial, commercial, agricultural or institutional applications.
Using conventional, non-perforated, exterior cladding, Matrix Energy has designed and optimized this low cost, unglazed, solar air heating system for fresh air heating to provide a nominal flow of 75 CFM of preheated ventilation or make-up air per foot of collector width or 120 l/s per metre of collector width.
According to Canada’s National Solar Test Facility in Mississauga, Ontario, MatrixAir™ Backpass has demonstrated a 60% operating efficiency with significantly higher energy output and temperature gains exceeding 23 °C over ambient temperatures.
