  • (1888PressRelease) November 07, 2014 - LID Publishing is expanding its editorial capability in North America by opening an office in the West Coast and incorporating Mark Brokering as Associate Publisher. Based in San Francisco, Brokering will work closely with LID Publishing's main US office in New York headed by Martin Liu as General Manager and David Woods as Editorial Director.

Brokering is a veteran publishing professional, who has held senior executive positions at HarperCollins and O'Reilly Media. He was until recently the Vice-President of Content Strategy and Acquisition for Safari Books Online.

Brokering will be responsible for developing a new series, "Technology in Practice" (TIP). The TIP series is designed to give non-technical managers and executives the information and guidance they need to understand the benefits of specific technologies and how those technologies can be effectively implemented in their organizations. He will also contribute to other publishing strands within the company.

Brokering comments: "There is often a knowledge and communications gap between an organization's IT professionals and its business stakeholders. TIP books will bridge this gap."

Martin Liu, General Manager of LID Publishing, comments: "LID is currently in a phase of expansion in North America. In Mark, we have a highly-respected, much-liked and experienced publishing professional, whose knowledge of and contacts in the technology sector especially will contribute significantly to this expansion. We are very excited to be working with Mark and growing our presence in the West Coast."
