Mark Berry's AMG Visuals Options Buzz Script To The Feature Film "Jamaican Vacation"

  • (1888PressRelease) March 24, 2016 - Toronto, ON - AMG has acquired the rights to the buzz feature film screenplay, "Jamaican Vacation", a family-friendly comedy-drama with a cool, Caribbean vibe. Mark S. Berry discovered the script from writers C. Chin and Eric Baird and has signed on as Executive Producer.

    The film will be shot in Toronto and Jamaica and have an extensive cast of world-recognized musical artists including Beenie Man, Ken Boothe and Marcia Griffiths. There is also a cameo from the fastest man on earth, Usain Bolt.

    Award winning producer Edwin "The Bajan King" Howell, Executive VP of VP Records is on board to be Music Supervisor giving Jamaican Vacation access to the greatest reggae themed masters & copyrights in the world. VP records will also release the films soundtrack internationally. VP records previously released the soundtrack and supervised the films "One Love" (starring Ky-Mani Marley) and "Shottas" (starring Ky-Mani and Wyclef Jean).

    Attached to the film is Sardia Robinson, a Jamaican-born actress living in Los Angeles. Her one-woman show, From a Yardie to a Yankee, has received international acclaim. Sardia plays the lead role of Danielle Taylor, returning to her homeland to vacation with her husband and children while visiting her parents (Marcia Griffiths, Ken Boothe).Also attached is the first "Black Scream Queen" Monique Dupree. Monique has appeared in over 70 B-horror films. In "Jamaican Vacation", she plays the sassy Lawanda Jackson, a client of Danielle's husband and a nemesis from college.

    C. Chin is CEO, Creative Director, Writer/Producer at U.X.E. Films. Evolving from Afrosoul Productions, U.X.E. boasts a long list of international concert productions including major events in Bangkok, Colombia, and Jamaica.

    Eric Baird is a Toronto-based writer with a second feature film in development co-written with Mark Breslin, founder of North America's largest chain of comedy clubs, Yuk Yuk's. The film is based on the birth of stand-up comedy in Toronto in the late 1970's.
