April 15, 2009 - Veteran restaurateur Roger Stilson is bringing his popular Mama Stortini’s Restaurant and Bar to Kent Station shopping center. This will be the second Mama Stortini’s and third restaurant for Stilson’s Specialty Restaurant Group. Mama Stortini’s opens at Kent Station for lunch and dinner in May 2009.
According to Stilson, “In early 2006 we purchased our restaurant in Puyallup, and now we are ready to bring the Mama Stortini’s experience to Kent. Kent Station has become the area’s favorite lifestyle retail and entertainment destination, and the space we found was exactly what we have been looking for.
Stilson describes Mama Stortini’s as “a go anytime, order anything restaurant featuring many Italian favorites. We will provide a friendly, casual and comfortable ambiance with rich Northwest design accents, and our large bar will be perfect for drop-in snack dining, lively socializing, and watching sporting events.”
Culinary Institute of America trained Chef Spearman adds, “We feature familiar foods with a creative Northwest influence. Mama Stortini’s has proven to be a winner by offering a wide range of choices at affordable prices. ”

Prior to launching The Specialty Restaurant Group, Stilson’s career included a twenty-year plus stint at Restaurants Unlimited as vice president of operations for Palomino and as senior vice president of marketing. He is a Northwest Native graduating from the University of Washington in 1981.
Kent Station is an urban village developed by Seattle-based Tarragon Development Company and is located on 18 acres in the heart of downtown Kent, Washington on Ramsay Way. The 470,000 sq. ft., mixed-use project features office, retail and entertainment including a 14-screen AMC Theaters Cineplex, a branch campus of Green River Community College and 13 restaurants, cafés and eateries.
